Roccia Paving

Look and character of Roccia paving

The slab is rectangular, sandblasted, with slip-resistance class A+B+C. On request, one of its sides is made with a Toro-type rounded edge – so the slab also serves as a step or as a finish for the paved area.

Formats and prices

The price is per slab, including VAT. Choose the colour and format from the menus next to the price.

A 60 × 32 cm slab covers about 0.19 m² – about 5.2 slabs per square metre.

Additional processing on request: milled groove – €12.78 per element; Toro-type rounded edge on one side (sandblasted slabs only) – €38.06 per element; pre-applied water-repellent treatment – €5.10 per element. Request it in the order note.

Colours and surface

The basic colours are white, yellow, grey, pink and brick. There is also a dark shade, Active, which carries a surcharge. The Platinum series (Madreperla, Tahiti and Oceanic) has coarse grains in the stone, and Crystal (Artic, Sahara and Tenerife) has sparkling grains; Tenerife is also available with a primed effect. The slip-resistance class of the surface is A+B+C. The colour on the screen depends on the monitor and the lighting when photographed, so ask for a sample to see the exact shade.

Advantages of Carobbio paving

• Athermic – does not heat up in strong sun and can be walked on barefoot.
• Frost-resistant – withstands very low temperatures without a problem.
• Slip-resistant surface, tested to UNI EN 13451.
• Reconstituted stone made from natural aggregates, selected marbles and coloured pigments.
• Combines with Carobbio coping stones and overflow grilles in the same colour.
• Eco-friendly product made in Italy by a company with 50 years of experience.

How to lay the paving

1. Lay the slabs out dry and decide where cuts will be needed.
2. The base must be stable, dry and cured. Work at a temperature between 5 and 30–35 °C.
3. Glue with a professional stone adhesive.
4. For paving over 16 m², alternate slabs from all the pallets – this blends the shades evenly.
5. Grout with the manufacturer's grout mix and wipe off the excess immediately.
6. If the pool is still being built, cover the paving until the work is finished.

Materials for laying and cleaning

• Adhesive for coping and slabs, 25 kg bag – enough for about 20 slabs.
• Grout, 25 kg bag, in white, grey, pink, yellow and brick – for about 12 m² of slabs.
• Caroprotec impregnator against water and stains, 5 l container – for about 25 m² of slabs.
• Deter-AC for cleaning after installation and Cibermac for seasonal cleaning – 5 l containers, each for about 25 m² of slabs.

Maintenance

After laying, wash the paving with the post-installation cleaner. Then treat it with a water- and stain-repellent impregnator – stone that is not impregnated absorbs every kind of dirt. Do not wash smooth surfaces with a high-pressure washer or aggressive chemicals. Do not use de-icing salt on the paving. When the packaging is opened, there may be damp patches on the slabs. This is normal: the colour evens out completely in about six months.

Important before ordering

The products are a mix of natural aggregates and pigments, so the colour and sandblasting may differ between batches. For paving over 16 m², alternate elements from all the pallets. The tolerance for each size is ± 5 mm. Whitish patches (efflorescence) and, more rarely, brownish ones are possible – a natural phenomenon with cement-based materials that disappears over time. The manufacturer's warranty covers replacement of a defective element that has not yet been laid, so inspect the goods before installation.
