The heater is the heart of every sauna. At Baseini.NET you will find sauna heaters from the Austrian brand sentiotec and from Mountfield: electric models from 3.6 to 18 kW with built-in control or for an external control panel, and a wood-burning sauna heater. Prices start from about 172,56 € for an electric heater.

Types of sauna stoves

Electric stoves with integrated control

In these models, the thermostat and timer are on the stove itself – no separate control panel is needed. These include Scandia Next 4.5 and 8 kW, Cumulus 6, 8 and 9 kW, ARI 7.5 and 9 kW in the “with integrated control” version and the Mountfield 3.6 kW and 8 kW stoves. They are suitable for home saunas and easy to install.

Stoves for external control panel

Models without built-in controls are connected to a separate control panel mounted outside the cabin. This allows the temperature and time to be conveniently set from the outside. The Mountfield 9 kW stove is supplied with an external control panel.

Shape and installation

ARI stoves are available in three versions – console (floor), wall and corner. The corner models Sawotec 6, 9 and 12 kW save space in small cabins. For large saunas there are also Savonia stoves from 9 to 18 kW, and for a sauna without electricity – the wood-burning S2 stove.

What stove power do I need?

As a guideline, the heater should be about 1 kW per 1 m³ of cabin volume. If the walls are glass or exposed stone, add power. Each heater has a specified allowable sauna volume in its technical data – comply with it.

• small cabin up to 4–5 m³ – stove 3.6–4.5 kW;
• sauna for 2–4 people (6–9 m³) – 6–8 kW;
• larger sauna (8–14 m³) – 9 kW and up.

Stoves up to about 4.5 kW usually operate on 230 V, and more powerful ones on three-phase current 400 V. The connection is carried out by a licensed electrician.

Sauna stones

The stones accumulate heat and give off steam when watered. We offer volcanic stones in sizes 5–10 and 10–15 cm in a 20 kg package and rounded stones 5–10 cm in 15 kg. Replace them when they start to crumble – usually once a year with regular use.

Questions about sauna heaters

How much does a sauna stove cost?

Electric sentiotec and Mountfield heaters cost from about 172,56 € to 1 737,90 € for the corner Sawotec 12 kW. The price depends on the power, the controls and the shape.

Can the stove be installed in an existing sauna?

Yes, if the power corresponds to the volume of the cabin and the safe distances to the walls and benches specified by the manufacturer are observed. Also use a protective grill around the stove.

Wood stove or electric?

An electric stove is easier to control and is suitable for a home sauna. A wood-burning stove is convenient for a cottage or outdoor sauna where there is no three-phase current, but requires a chimney.
