Threaded hose fitting for sand filter
A broken or cracked filter hose fitting means a leak and air being drawn in. This original part has a ribbed end for the hose and an external thread for the filter body. This way it connects the flexible pipe to the filtration.
The flat inlet gasket is added to the connector and seals the connection at the inlet.

Do not tighten with pliers or a wrench. The plastic thread is strong enough if it is screwed on correctly.
When to replace a filter hose fitting
The plastic can crack from freezing or from overtightening. Then the connection stops being tight. Replace the fitting if you see a crack or if the thread is worn smooth. Also check it after winter storage.
The original part matches the thread of the filter. This is why you do not need to modify it. The ribs hold the hose firmly, and the clamp presses it evenly. This way the connection stays tight even while the pump is running.
How it is installed
- Switch off the pump and shut off the water supply.
- Remove the clamp and pull the hose off the old fitting.
- Unscrew the fitting from the filter connection.
- Screw on the new fitting and tighten it by hand.
- Put the hose back, tighten the clamp and check for leaks.
Maintenance tips
Before any work on the filtration, disconnect the pump from the power supply. Also check all seals and connections at the start of the season. This way small problems show up in time and do not lead to the pool being shut down.
