Swing sand filter pressure gauge
The Swing filter pressure gauge is the small but important part on the multiport valve of the sand filtration unit. It shows the pressure in the filter. This way you can see when the sand is dirty and needs to be backwashed.

Why you need a Swing filter pressure gauge
While the filter is running, the sand retains impurities from the water. Over time they accumulate and the pressure in the filter rises. The pressure gauge shows you this change clearly and quickly.
The manufacturer advises regularly monitoring the pressure on the pressure gauge. Depending on the readings, the sand is backwashed. If the pressure stays high even after backwashing, the sand must be replaced.
Without a working pressure gauge, you can easily miss the moment for backwashing. Then the filtration works harder and the water is not cleaned well. That is why a broken or inaccurate pressure gauge should be replaced immediately.
Where it is installed
The Swing filter pressure gauge screws into the pressure gauge port of the multiport valve. The valve sits at the very top of the filter tank. In the photo of the Swing Plus filter, the position of the pressure gauge is circled in red.
Step-by-step assembly
- Disconnect the filtration from the power supply.
- Carefully unscrew the old pressure gauge.
- Place the small rubber gasket in the pressure gauge port.
- Screw in the pressure gauge body and tighten it lightly by hand.
Be careful when screwing it in. The thread is fine and can be damaged if the pressure gauge goes in crooked. Do not tighten with pliers or with great force.
Which filters it is suitable for
The pressure gauge is part of the Swing sand filtration units. In the manual for the Swing Plus 10, Swing Plus 14 and Swing Plus 18 it is listed as one of the main parts of the filter. In our shop you will also find the Swing Plus sets themselves, as well as other spare parts for them.
