The outer part of the buckle holds the straps of the inflatable PureSpa hot tub together. The inner half goes into it and so the clasp closes.
The original Mountfield outer part fits the inner one exactly. This is why fastening is easy and secure.

How the outer part of the buckle works
The picture shows a beige plastic part with a socket for the inner half. Next to it there is a slot for the strap with a serrated side. The small wheel in the middle shows lock and unlock symbols. It is used to lock the clasp. This half is more solid, so it breaks less often. But after a fall or impact the socket can crack. Then the buckle no longer holds.
When to replace the buckle
- when the buckle is broken or cracked;
- when it no longer closes and does not click;
- when one of the two parts is lost;
- when the strap does not hold in it.
How it is installed
First remove the strap from the old buckle. Then check whether the other half is sound. If it is not, replace both parts. Thread the strap through the new part in the same way as with the old one. Tighten and click the buckle. Finally, pull the strap to make sure it holds. This keeps the cover well fastened.
Advantages of the original buckle
The original parts are made to fit Mountfield frames and straps. This is why they click with light pressure and do not come loose. Universal buckles are often wider or narrower. Then the strap slips and the cover does not close all the way. In addition, the original is made of a material suitable for outdoor use and water. This way it does not fade quickly.
