Hexagonal glass-ceramic mosaic Bazaruto
Bazaruto bathroom mosaic is a glass-ceramic cladding with hexagonal tiles – pale blue with lighter shades. The chips are arranged on sheets that are convenient to install.

Advantages of the Bazaruto bathroom mosaic
Stronger than mesh and paper
The sheets of the Bazaruto mosaic are mounted on a silicone (polyurethane) dot backing. On the back, small silicone dots connect the chips without covering their backs.
This way over 95 % of the surface of each chip remains free for the adhesive and the adhesion is very strong. The backing does not change the thickness of the mosaic, does not disintegrate from the adhesive and the grout and does not deform in storage.
The sheet is flexible and is laid easily on curved walls, steps and corners.

Grout colour
White grout preserves the lightness, while light grey emphasises the shape.
For shower cubicles and wet areas choose epoxy or waterproof C2 grout – it does not absorb moisture and does not darken.

Multiply the height by the width of each wall you will be cladding and add an allowance for cutting. Example:
Consumption rates are approximate: adhesive about 2 kg/m² for chips up to 25 mm, 2.5 kg/m² for 40 mm and 3 kg/m² for larger chips; grout by the formula (A + B) / (A × B) × C × D × 1.6 kg/m² for chips of about 3 cm, 5.5 mm thickness and 2 mm joint. The actual consumption depends on the evenness and absorbency of the substrate, the type of adhesive and grout, the size of the trowel, the width and depth of the joint, the shape of the pool or room and the skill of the installer. Check the quantity against the technical data sheet of the chosen adhesive and grout and with the installer.
How to install the Bazaruto bathroom mosaic
- Substrate. It must be even (within 2 mm over 2 m), dry, sound and dust-free. In the shower area, waterproofing is applied first.
- Adhesive. Use a white elastic cement-based adhesive of class C2TE S1. White is important – the glass is slightly translucent and a grey adhesive would darken the colour.
- Application. Spread adhesive with a notched trowel (3–4 mm) over an area for 2–3 sheets.
- Laying. Place the sheet and press it evenly with a rubber trowel. Leave the same 2 mm joint between the sheets.
- Cutting. At corners and around nozzles, cut the silicone dots with a utility knife; single chips are cut with nippers for glass mosaic.
- Grouting. Grout after 24 hours. For the shower area, epoxy or waterproof C2 grout is the most suitable.
- Cleaning. Remove grout residue with a damp sponge before it dries; epoxy residue – immediately with a special cleaning agent.
- Use. The shower can be used after the grout has fully cured.

- Avoid abrasive powders, metal brushes and acids for the grout.
- After showering, wipe the wall with a rubber squeegee – the glass is left free of water marks.

The colour in the photo and in reality
Glass mosaic is a living material and its colour is perceived differently depending on the conditions. There may be a difference between the colour in photos and visualisations and the colour of the mosaic on site. The influencing factors are:
- the settings, brightness and type of the screen of the monitor, phone or tablet;
- the light – sun, cloudy sky, artificial lighting, the colour of the lamps, morning or evening;
- the angle from which you view it – the glass reflects and shines differently;
- the water in the pool – depth, clarity, chemistry and the reflection of the sky make the colour more saturated and bluer;
- the colour of the grout and adhesive and the size of the clad area;
- the colours around the mosaic – coping, paving, walls, plants;
- the production batch – a slight difference in shade is possible between individual batches; therefore order the whole quantity at once;
- the natural difference between individual chips in mixes and in glass with an effect finish.
