UV-C stainless steel pool disinfection unit

The POOLSANA UV-C device is installed in the filter circuit between the sand filter and the inlet nozzles. The water, which has already been mechanically purified, passes through the device and is irradiated with short-wave UV-C rays (253,7 nm), which destroy almost all bacteria, viruses and even mold. This allows a reduction in the amount of water maintenance products used by up to 80%, and with daily operation of at least 8–10 hours, the use of slow-dissolving chlorine can even be avoided. The result is more natural and healthier water.

With a length of about 75 cm, the device is up to 25% more compact than other UV systems with the same power, allowing easy installation even in limited spaces such as technical shafts or filter rooms.

Flexible connection


The device can be installed both vertically and horizontally. It has two water connection outlets on the lamp side, which allows the inlet and outlet to be located opposite or on the same side. The kit includes a plug for the unused hole, as well as transparent adhesive sleeves Ø 63 mm and reducers with Ø 50 mm adhesive connection and 1 1/2″ internal thread. Additional connecting elements can be used for hoses Ø 32/38 mm.

Safe use


A small safety switch is located at the base of the connection module, which is only activated when the lamp is fully inserted into the housing. This prevents unintentional viewing of the operating UV-C lamp and increases safety during operation.
   

Electrical connection and maintenance instructions


The UV-C unit must be operated on a common timer together with the sand filter system to avoid operation without water flow. Both devices must be protected by a 30 mA residual current device (RCD).

Although the housing is made of V4A stainless steel, the device is not suitable for use in salt electrolysis pools. The maximum water temperature is 40°C.

In winter, the unit can be left outdoors if the system is completely drained. It is recommended to remove the UV lamp and store it in a dry and frost-free place. The lamp should be replaced every 1–2 years, as the effectiveness of the UV radiation decreases over time.

Under high water stress (high temperatures or intensive use) longer periods of operation may be required to maintain water quality. pH control, addition of an algaecide and periodic shock chlorination remain necessary.
