California sand filter with top valve – what it includes
The filter comes with intermediate connections and a six-way valve. The valve is included in the price. It is mounted on top, on the lid of the body. This is why the filter takes up less space at the sides and fits easily in a narrow room.
Connection is with Ø50 mm pipes. The base is stable and the body is moisture-resistant.
Flow by diameter
The flow depends on the filtration rate. The data is for 30 / 40 / 50 m³/h per square metre of filter area:
- 300 mm – 2.10 / 2.80 / 3.50 m³/h
- 400 mm – 4.00 / 5.00 / 6.00 m³/h
- 500 mm – 6.00 / 8.00 / 10.00 m³/h
- 600 mm – 8.50 / 11.30 / 14.00 m³/h
Dimensions and amount of sand
In the diagram, A is the diameter of the body and B is the total height including the valve.
- 300 mm – height 650 mm; filter area 0.07 m²
- 400 mm – height 750 mm; filter area 0.125 m²
- 500 mm – height 880 mm; filter area 0.197 m²
- 600 mm – height 998 mm; filter area 0.282 m²
The catalogue recommends the following amounts of sand:
- 300 mm – 20 kg fine and 20 kg medium sand, 40 kg in total
- 400 mm – 25 kg fine and 25 kg medium sand, 50 kg in total
- 500 mm – 50 kg fine and 25 kg medium sand, 75 kg in total
- 600 mm – 100 kg fine and 50 kg medium sand, 150 kg in total
Installation and maintenance
Place the filter on a level, stable base next to the pump. Connect the pipes to the six-way valve. Fill the body with sand and start the water. Connecting the pump to the electrical mains must be done by a qualified electrician.
When the pressure rises, backwash the filter through the valve. This keeps the sand clean and the water clear.
Which pools it is suitable for
The filter is suitable for small garden, prefabricated and family pools. Choose the diameter according to the pump flow. If you have questions, write to us – we will help you choose.
